Samui Airport saw a 12.5% increase in passenger traffic from January to April 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, despite a 1% decline in overall Thai tourism between January 1 and May 11, 2025. The airport currently handles an average of 70–80 flights per day.

The outlook remains strong: flight volume to Ko Samui is projected to rise by 15% in 2025. Advance bookings with Bangkok Airways for June–December 2025 are already 12% higher than the same period in 2024, even as Thailand’s overall tourism market is expected to contract by 2–3% this year.
